Education and Musical Background

Antti began his vocal studies at Madetoja Upper Secondary School of Music and the Oulu Conservatory. He later completed professional music studies with a focus on pop and jazz singing, jazz improvisation, and classical voice.

He continued his education in higher education, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy. In addition to formal studies, Antti has pursued extensive private vocal training in both contemporary and classical singing traditions.

His teachers have included respected vocal pedagogues such as Mari Klemettilä, Markku Liukkonen, Ritva Eerola, Aki Alamikkotervo, and Inga Söder. His studies in jazz improvisation under composer, pianist, and educator Vesa Valkama significantly shaped his artistic development and approach to musicianship.

Estill Voice Training® and EMCI Certification

Antti attended his first Estill Voice Training® course in Helsinki in 2013 under the guidance of Dorte Hyldstrup and Helga Westmark.

The Estill model immediately resonated with him because of its practical, evidence-based approach to voice training. It provided clear answers to questions that many singers, teachers, and performers encounter when exploring the similarities and differences between classical and contemporary vocal styles.

Antti became a Certified Master Teacher of Estill Voice Training® (now Estill Master Trainer) in 2015 and is among the most experienced Estill educators in Finland.

In 2026 he achieved the highest Estill teaching credential, becoming Finland’s first Estill Mentor & Course Instructor (EMCI). Throughout his Estill journey, he has been mentored by and worked closely with renowned Danish voice teacher Dorte Hyldstrup, one of the highest-level Estill instructors trained directly by Jo Estill herself.

Today Antti teaches official Estill Voice Training® courses, workshops, and professional development programs internationally.

His teaching combines:

  • Modern voice science
  • International voice training expertise
  • Professional performance experience
  • Practical, student-centered pedagogy

At the heart of his work is the belief that every student can develop greater awareness, control, and freedom in their voice.

Regardless of genre, style, or professional background, the goal remains the same: helping individuals discover a voice that functions freely, efficiently, and authentically.
